New XPS Laptops From Dell Have Core i5 Processors, HD Webcams and JBL Speakers [Laptops]

New XPS Laptops From Dell Have Core i5 Processors, HD Webcams and JBL Speakers [Laptops] They might look extra-unwieldy next to yesterday’s Airs , but the XPS line has returned-much to its fans’ delight, I’m sure. There are 14, 15 and 17-inch options available, each with backlit keyboards and brushed aluminum outers.

Inside though, there are some decent specs (particularly once you consider they start at $899. Intel Core i5 460M processors, Nvidia GeForce 420M graphics cards, 4GB of RAM and 500GB hard drives are the lowest options available, with various specs readily available for bulking up your order, in conjunction with the standard Blu-ray drives etc.

As which you can probably tell from the images, these aren’t exactly light. The 14-incher weighs 5.35 pounds (2.4kg), and the 17-incher is 7.57 (3.4kg). However, there are JBL speakers, a 720p-shooting webcam, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports aplenty, and a HDMI 1.4 port.

On sale now, the 14-incher is $899, the 15-incher $849 and 17-incher $949. [ Dell via CNET ]
