I won’t be replacing my sofa anytime soon for this rather uncomfy-looking terracota vision, but you’ve got to respect a man who knows methods to build something using nothing but crap found at a neighborhood ironmongery store.
Designer Christopher Stuart cobbled together The Hopeless Diamond Sofa using a folding paper cup as inspiration, with various trapezoid and triangle shapes comprising the copper plumbing pipe structure. Shipping blankets, a little bit carpet padding to soften the bum’s experience, and zip ties were used to hold it all together.
The wooden paneling would go marvelously with a tongue-in-groove cladded house, and I’m sure the sofa could be just the trick for those…with a lot of natural padding in their bums already? [ Christopher Stuart via NotCot ]
