The ” connect colored blocks” subgenre isn’t exactly fresh-that is what makes Virus Strike so interesting. It has managed to position some new life into an ancient puzzler type, letting you guide each falling brick with lines you draw.
The format isn’t totally novel-you’re still just looking to line up spheres with other spheres of an identical color to cause them to vanish, a la Tetris or Columns. But the line-guided action is proven fun, and looks more satisfying than just watching bricks or blocks float down all alone. Virus Strike is free for now, so give it a shot when you’re a puzzle fan and notice if it tickles your brick-breaking fancy. [ iTunes ]
