Trillian for Android Out of Beta, Launches on the Android Market [Downloads]

Android: Those of you watching for a more stable client (or with phones that didn’t allow sideloading) can finally test out Trillian for Android, on of our favorite (and your favorite ) multi-protocol IM clients.

The stable version of Trillian has a number of neat features that weren’t in our first observe the beta , like the facility to stay connected to Wi-Fi even when the phone is asleep, in addition as the power to head into a ” battery saving mode” where poll times are longer but won’t kill your phone as quickly. The frenzy to Email feature could also be nice (though it’s been there for awhile), allowing you to suspend Trillian and push any incoming emails to IM so you don’t miss any messages.

Its biggest downside is that it now runs at the hefty price of $4.99, so while you’re searching for a free alternative, you have to take a look at the Hive-winning Meebo before slapping down your hard-earned cash. Whenever you’re a Trillian user on the desktop, though, or you only love the advanced IM features it’s dropped at the table, it’s probably definitely worth the few extra bucks.

Update: As lots of you’ve noted, Trillian has stated that they won’t be disabling the beta. So while you’ve grabbed the most recent version of the beta, you can actually have Trillian 1.0 without cost for awhile-you simply won’t get updates. When you haven’t tested it yet, that’s a stunning good distance to peer if Trillian 1.0 works for you before paying $5 for it.
