his photo was taken in Brooklyn 50 years ago (to the day), when two airliners crashed above the recent York borough. Bodies, debris and wreckage remained. In honor, Life released a full gallery of shots from the scene.
Known as the ” Park Slope Plane Crash ,” the wear was devastating. 134 people total died, including six on the ground and all 126 passengers inside the sky. 10 buildings were destroyed, the end result of a seven alarm fire. Interestingly enough, this was one of the vital first plane crashes where the aircraft were equipped with flight data recorders, aka black boxes.
