35 Phenomenal Photos….IN 3D!!!!! [Photography]

35 Phenomenal Photos....IN 3D!!!!! [Photography] Put those silly glasses down and prepare to blow your mind (…and doubtless get a slight headache). This week’s Shooting Challenge is 3 freaking D. To view the photos, just refocus your eyes to line up the white dots.

Lead Shot – Making ready For Santa

To answer your question, yes… the cookies are pretty much as good as they appear. Santa won’t be disappointed. Canon T2i, ISO 3200, 0EV, f 3.5, 1/30.

Framing was done using powerpoint and saving the slide as a jpeg. Inquisitive about Nikon D40 at 18mm on a tripod.

Christmas Tree

35 Phenomenal Photos....IN 3D!!!!! [Photography]
As soon as I saw the challenge I knew I had to shoot my christmas tree. I know that you’ll receive a whole bunch photos with christmas trees on it, but it surely just looks so good! I admire stereograms and I rejoiced taking the shots. I used a Nikon D90 on a tripod with the 18-55 (kit) lenses, F11 and 6s of shutter speed.

Midnight Within the Dressmaker’s Shop

35 Phenomenal Photos....IN 3D!!!!! [Photography]
It is a shot of dressmaker’s forms in storage. Ordinarily I’ve found these to be a section disturbing all alone; shooting them inside the darkened room – illuminated solely by a Maglite flashlight – only heightened their imposing quality. I’d originally had entirely different ideas for this shooting challenge , but I couldn’t resist trying these as a short experiment. After I assembled the photographs in PS, I couldn’t help but feel creeped out by their ‘Silent Hill’ vibe! Nikon D5000 (VR 18-55mm kit lens), f/11, 6 sec. shutter.

The Horrors That Ensue When Man Plays God

35 Phenomenal Photos....IN 3D!!!!! [Photography]
I just wanted to look if i’ll get the effect to work on a macro shot. I didn’t use a tripod. I just rested my hands on the table and used the focal point points within the viewfinder as guides to be certain the horizontal alignment was an identical in both shots. I shot other poses and angles I preferred, but this one created the perfect 3D effect. It was difficult looking to get enough light for working with this sort of small aperture while keeping the ISO low, but I believe I found the very best balance for the volume of light I had to work with (two desk lamps). Shot with a Canon Rebel XSi and the 18-55mm kit lens reverse mounted @ 35mm, ISO 200, Shutter Speed 1/60, Aperture f/16.

Winner – Portrait

35 Phenomenal Photos....IN 3D!!!!! [Photography] This was shot with a pair of Canon G7′s synchronized with SDM. The exposure was 1/250 at f/4 and ISO 80.
-Robert Anderson

I know 3D is known as a gimmick, but the added dimension just brings out so much character (in addition as texture detail) in shots like ‘Portrait’ that I refuse to imagine a future without its prominence. Inside the meantime, I’m off to pop some ibuprofen. You could find full-size versions on flickr , but you could must back up a huge from the monitor to essentially view them.

Gallery ( one-page view )

Today on Life, Panoramic , we’re featuring Tokyo by mixed media artist Rikki Kasso. He experiments/genre jumps between classic cityscape photography, candids, nudes and ink, oil and acrylic on wood and canvas.

  • HTC Ville to run on a dual-core Snapdragon S4?HTC Ville to run on a dual-core Snapdragon S4?

Well looky here. A phone bearing the alluring name of "HTC VLE_U" just cropped up on NenaMark2 with a healthy 57.50 average frame rate. More interesting than the score, however, is the connection with a Qualcomm Adreno 225 GPU, which -- assuming it truly is legit -- strongly implies the presence of a powerful Snapdragon S4 sitting inside the Ville's engine compartment. This tallies… »

Word in the street is ViewSonic's on the brink of unveil a fresh, ICS-equipped 7-inch tablet at MWC (together with everyone else). The ViewPad G70, which might be a follow-as much as that budget-friendly E70 we showed you at CES, is rumored to hold a touch heavier $350 price ticket than its sibling. While the slate's best feature might be Google's 4.0 treat , ViewSonic's… »
