Occipital, purveyor of good iPhone wares corresponding to Redlaser and ClearCam , recently released a new iPhone app 360 Panorama . And inside the process, they discovered you’ll be able to navigate pages in Mobile Safari using the iPhone 4′s gyroscope .
Occipital goes as far to call this functionality augmented reality, but that’s just a little an exaggeration. However, they were nice enough to create an interactive demo for us all to take advantage of , showing off the functionality stowed away inside the Mobile Safari (you would like an iPhone 4 or a 4G iPod touch with iOS 4.2 installed). Basically, that you could create an image using Occipital’s 360 Panorama app, and then upload the photo to their site. Once you load the page in Mobile Safari, the browser will auto-detect the gyroscope and pan in the course of the image as you turn your phone/body.
A modest demo to make sure, however shall be interesting to work out how developers use it at some point with websites and web apps. [ Occipital via The following Web via Boy Genius ]
