Skype went down last week! It was a harrowing 24 hours for VoIPers forced to scramble for a landline, and to make up for the trauma the company’s apparently offering credit vouchers worth around 30 minutes of talk time in some parts of the area. Apparently Consumerist reader Marti received the next message from Skype’s CEO:
As a valued customer of Skype, we wish to provide you a sincere apology and give you our gratitude with a credit voucher worth a choice of more than 30 minutes to a landline in some of our ideal countries, along with USA, UK, Germany, China, Japan. Or spend it however you favor on Skype…
Those 30 minutes exercise routine to about a dollar in real human money, but it surely’s a pleasant gesture.
It’s unclear at this point if every Skype user is getting an identical deal (or any deal at all), but cheers to Skype for making good the one way realistically available to them. [ Consumerist ]
