There are numerous iPhone remotes for TiVo that permit you control your DVR to a limited extent, but the TiVo iPad Remote is essentially the TiVo UI, laid out in front of you always.

What is it?

TiVo’s official remote app for the iPad. It has five ” tabs” , and allows you to manage your recordings, find new shows to observe, leaf through the TV guide, and basically flick through your TiVo interface as while you’re actually browsing throughout the interface. It’s independent of what’s happening on the TV, so you will be watching a show and be doing all this simultaneously.

Who’s it good for?

The Venn Diagram intersection of iPad owners, TiVo owners, and TV watchers that aren’t uncomfortable with holding something in their lap while they enjoy their televisions.

Why’s it better than alternatives?

There’s no real alternative, rather then simple TiVo remotes, so that’s the perfect approach to controlling and managing your TiVo.

How could or not it’s even better?

Simple things like with the ability to rate shows to your DVR queue, or with the ability to mass-delete shows can be phenomenal. As is, it’s the suitable remote to your TiVo.
