Truth learn, there aren’t tons of iPad games that grab me inside the can’t-work-can’t-sleep-I’ve-just-gotta-play-it kinda way. But I’m amazed I’ve gotten anything done since World of Goo came into my life this week.
What is it?
World of Goo, iPad, $5 . World of Goo was not born on the iPad. It started as an immensely successful WiiWare game-garnering roughly unanimous praise-and is obtainable for PCs and Macs. But the game, a pure physics-based treat through which you build structures out of little living goo balls, is ideal at home on the tablet; using your finger to sling goos into place as you’re making your way in the course of the various levels, discovering new and strangely behaving species of goo, is immensely satisfying.
Who’s it good for?
Anyone with an iPad. Really, anyone.
Why’s it better than alternatives?
It’s the entire package: beautiful graphics, awesome soundtrack, and most of all a very easy to be told, endlessly satisfying game dynamic.
How could it’s even better?
If it consumed my life this week a touch less completely.
