Gawker Media is calling for some Editorial Marketing interns. Here’s what it’s a must to know:
This is a three month internship under the Editorial Marketing Team at Gawker Media, so an appropriate candidate is someone who’s interested by learning about online media, affiliate marketing, or both. During your internship, one could work directly under the guidance and supervision of the Editorial Marketing Team. Ideally you’ll be within commuting distance to Manhattan, but that’s not a requirement.
What you’ll be answerable for:
• Assisting with quality controls of social media properties
• Assisting with general story promotion for all Gawker Media properties on essentially the most prominent social networks and by email
• Assisting with collecting analytics data
What you’ll learn from our Editorial Marketing Team:
• How the area of online media publishing works
• What makes a story popular online
• How one can control the quality of social media properties
• The way to promote stories on one of the most prominent social networks and by email
• Methods to analyze analytics and collect online data
• The best way to track the acclaim for stories online
• How and why to market content differently to numerous online demographics
• Tips on how to use social media effectively as a publisher
Requirements: (please DO NOT apply whenever you cannot meet these basic requirements)
• Available to work a minimum of two full weekdays a week
• A working computer with a stable internet connection (this work can’t be done from your smartphone)
