Starting in Turkey, iPhone users will soon have the ability to use Visa’s NFC payment system at one of the most 40,000 cash-registers signed up to the scheme. For now those iPhones will need an iCarte dongle, plus the compatible app.
It’s expected that by the time the payment scheme launches in other European countries, iPhone 5 users will likely be ready to swipe-to-pay for their David Hasselhoff CD without the little dongle-if rumors of the subsequent iPhone and iPad having the technology inbuilt are correct.
Following Turkey, the coolest citizens of Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, Poland and the UK will probably be ready to sign in to the program. [ Wired UK ]
