LanSchool iPad application shoots out, sends back test questions

LanSchool’s iPad app has been out for a tick, however the latest update adds a different that needs to please both teachers and pupils alike. It’s a testing feature that allows professors to send tests of as much as 100 inquiries to students who’re running the LanSchool iPad Student application; from there, the test results is usually shot back and displayed in real time at the teacher’s console and are available back graded having the ability to export or print the effects. Those accountable can establish true / false, multiple choice or short answer questions, and graphics have a green light besides. Tests need to be built out using a Mac or PC, but after that, they could then be sent to iPads, computers or thin clients. You may hit the source link to download this system without charge, but you’ll want a current classroom license for LanSchool to get anything accomplished. Whatd’ya — A for effort?

“Assessment is such an essential component of the education process, and iPads are any such powerful learning tool, it seemed only logical that we might add testing capability to the equation.”

“LanSchool focuses entirely at the needs of teachers and the way to empower them to achieve success in changing students’ lives,” said Dana Doggett, President and founding father of LanSchool. “Assessment is such an essential component of the education process, and iPads are this type of powerful learning tool, it seemed only logical that we’d add testing capability to the equation.”

The test questions may be true/false, multiple choice or short answer and may also include graphics. Teachers can create the tests quickly and simply using LanSchool Test Builder on a Mac or a computer. They may be able to then be sent to iPads, Macs, PCs or thin clients.

    1. As the screen shot shows, this is not a “testing” feature, but a “poll” feature. There is a huge difference. In the testing feature, as an educator I can receive real time feed back on each question missed, student scores on tests, % of missed scores on each question, etc. The poll feature is completely different. I’m not sure how the author of the article missed this major difference and continued with the error especially with the screen shot.

    2. I used this article to prep for my students to use ipads and the Lan School testing feature. I wasted my time and about 45 minutes by trying to figure out the problem with the ipad and then it was off to the computer lab to use the pc’s. As it stands, Lan School can only push 1 test to 1 ipad at a one time. It was my fault for relying on the truth of the article and not testing more than 1 ipad at once. It will not work with more than 1 ipad. If your an educator, do not use this app until the next Lan School Student update.

    Brad,
The next iPad revision is currently being tested. This will add the ability to send out tests to multiple iPads. We are expecting it to be available in the iTunes store within the next couple of weeks. It will be a new version of the LanSchool student for iPad. Though it is supposed to be released in concert with a v7.6 update of the standard desktop software.

Just what's a "mobile PC" at the present time? Based on market research firm NPD, that category now includes both tablets and laptops -- and by that definition, Apple is unsurprisingly way earlier than its competitors. According to its preliminary numbers, Apple shipped 23.4 million mobile PCs within the fourth quarter of 2011 (nearly 80 percent of which have been iPads), which was enough… »
