TomTom Announces Availability of VIA Series in North America

New Series Introduces Important Safety-Enhancing Features to Mid-Range Models

Concord, MA, April 1, 2011 – TomTom, the sector’s leading provider of location and navigation services and products, today announced the provision of the VIA Series within the Usa and Canada. The hot TomTom VIA navigation devices, previously announced on the Consumer Electronics Show, offer consumers a robust navigation experience with a swish new design, an enhanced software platform, and premium safety-enhancing features equivalent to Intuitive Voice Recognition and Bluetooth® Hands-Free Calling.

Offering much more choices for drivers, the hot VIA Series encompasses a range of models, including the 4.3″ VIA 1405 and 1435, in addition to the 5″ VIA 1505 and 1535. Consumers may also give you the option to buy these models with Lifetime Maps and/or Lifetime Traffic**.

New Design
Drivers will travel popular with TomTom VIA’s super-slim design and its new, integrated and innovative fold-and-go EasyPort® mount. This handy mounting system makes it possible for easy positioning of the device either at the windshield or the dash and the device orients the display with an invaluable flip-screen feature.

The devices might be offered in two finishes – the VIA 1435 and 1535 contains a contemporary brushed-aluminum finish, while the VIA 1405 and 1505 range offers a classic, black finish.

Premium Safety-Enhancing Features
The VIA 1435 and 1535 range offers drivers a set of premium safety-enhancing features, including Intuitive Voice Control and Bluetooth Hands-Free calling, that let drivers to maintain their eyes at the road and hands at the wheel.

The recent and improved Intuitive Voice Recognition at the VIA 1435 and 1535 allows drivers to make use of voice commands which might be spoken naturally, in a single simple step. For example, drivers can now say “Take me to 55 Main Street, Anywhere, USA” in a single simple step instead of breaking apart the address by city, state, street and street number.
