Square gets financial backing from Visa, asks to work out some ID

Everything’s arising Jack Dorsey this present day. Last week Apple started stocking Square’s iPhone mastercard readers in its 235 US retail locations, and now, consistent with Reuters, Visa has put its plastic where its mouth is. The bank card giant has invested inside the personal payments startup, scoring itself a gap on Square’s advisory board within the process. No word on how much Visa is truly dropping at the company, but something stands to reason: it probably didn’t make the deposit via Verifone . If you need to speculate in a Square reader, it’ll cost you a large number less — the corporate remains offering smartphone plug-ins for free of charge on its site.
