We heard of a bezel-hating LG Shuriken display sneaking its way onto Acer laptops recently, however the Korean company has wisely opted to debut that cutting-edge technology in its own portable computers first. The 14-inch P430 and 15.6-inch P530 mark the beginning of its new Blade series of laptops, that are the results of some obsessive slimming work on the LG labs — display thickness is 4.5mm and four.7mm, respectively, while the bezel at the 14-inch model is so narrow as to slot its screen inside the dimensions of a standard 13.3-inch laptop. SEOUL, May 3, 2011 – LG Electronics (LG) today introduced two notebooks – the P430 and P530 – because the first within the company’s new “Blade” series to be launched later this month.
LG’s Blade series comprises ultra-slim notebooks that deliver the last word well-liked without sacrificing performance. Compared with LG’s first generation slim notebooks (models P210 and P420), the Blade series boasts a noticeably slimmer profile. The minimalist, sophisticated designs of the P430 and P530 feature an excellent-slim LED LCD screen, bezel and body, making a new style icon for fashion-forward consumers. The notebooks’ new display technology, developed in collaboration with LG Display, allows the LED LCD screens to be incredibly thin while still delivering rich, sharp images. With respective depths of four.5mm and four.7mm, the screens of the P430 and P530 are as much as 50 percent thinner than every other notebooks of their class.
