RealD 3D display technology is being jointly developed by Samsung Electronics LCD Business and RealD in accordance with RealD’s proprietary technology, which adopts characteristics from the company’s cinema system used in movie theatres all over the world. The LCD based display technology is integrated at the LCD panel and actively syncs with the left and right eye images for full resolution high definition 3D video that may be viewed through circularly polarized RealD 3D cinema eyewear. RealD 3D displays also are 2D compatible, leading to no reduction of image quality in 2D mode.
