UDC shows off serpentine OLED lamp concept at SID 2011 (video)

We have seen flexible OLEDs and OLED lighting solutions before, but none of them conjured our sweaty club-hopping fantasies quite like this idea from Universal Display Corporation (UDC). The flexible OLED makers weren’t particularly forthcoming at the specs for this colour-changing apparatus, but we will be able to let you know that it uncoils and recoils with assistance from a motion sensor, and requires little or no energy to power — note that tiny wire supplying one hundred pc of the desired juice. UDC used this flashy lamp specifically to reveal off its own brand of low-energy flexible white OLED lighting, which suggests you will not see it taking drugs in B.E.D. anytime soon (if ever), however it certainly has us taking into consideration new how one can remove darkness from our nights.
