Preconceptions aside, Apple products do occasionally spread viruses , and never just the biological kind , that’s why Cupertino saw fit to equip Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard with a quarantine function to securely set malware aside. This week, however, Apple’s kicking those digital white blood cells into high gear, updating that quarantine list daily with a brand new background process. The company’s primarily got its crosshairs at the recent MacDefender scare, obviously, but at the off-chance malware starts popping out of the woodwork, it seems like you will not need to await a proper security update to be forewarned of the hazards. If privacy’s your primary concern, however, you may also opt-out — take a gander at our source links to look how it’s done.
