Foxconn confirmed today that its manufacturing plant in Chengdu, China has reopened and resumed operations following an explosion in its iPad 2 production facility last month that killed three employees and left others in hospital. The corporate has also announced that while its investigation into the incident is “ongoing,” it has already addressed the preliminary finding that the explosion was “likely as a result of an explosion of aluminum dust in a ventilation duct.” As a consequence, it says it has installed place “improvements in workshop ventilation,” in addition to a “a complete revamping of the policies and practices with regards to the disposal of that dust.” All Things D has the company’s complete statement on the link below.
