Sweet merciful tech gods will we love the Arduino . Seriously, it kind of feels there’s almost nothing this little MCU can’t do. The most recent arrow in its quiver of awesomeness is that this little sampler , called the GVS1, which may capture, loop, pause, and reverse pixelated clips of one- or 1.5-bit video in stunning 128 × 96 clarity. (And, before you ask, we aren’t exactly sure what half-a-bit is either.) The creator, called Gijs on Vimeo, plans to upgrade the GVS1 to two-bit capture one day and is operating towards getting some kits out the door in either September or October. If you are impatient, and feature have the mandatory soldering skills, you will find schematics and the Arduino code on the source. But, before you go, be sure to investigate the pair of demo videos after the break.
