Xiaomi Phone gets dissected, phone status confirmed

The Xiaomi Phone managed to pique our interest by packing a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor right into a fairly sleek, inexpensive package — and, like any interesting new devices, it’s now been torn completely apart. That you can thank the people at LeiPhone for doing the labor for this reason, the result of that are found on the source link below. We’ll soon even have some more impressions of the (intact) phone ourselves, and it seems like Xiaomi can be giving its own forum members the primary crack at pre-orders for the device. Those start at 10PM Eastern tonight for people with the requisite selection of points, and we’re told that the primary 600 orders (200 everyday from the 29th to the 31st) will receive an “engineering special edition” version of the telephone — let alone a slight discount off the list price.

[Thanks, Adam]

Internet fraud and theft are major problems, there appears little question about that -- in accordance with FCC chairman Julius Genachowski , some 8.4 million bank card numbers are stolen yearly. The question, then, is who ought to be addressing the problem. Genachowski this week called for "smart, practical, voluntary solutions," asking internet service providers to position more… »
