Boogie Rip eWriting pad stylus-on (video)
Hey, understand that new product from Improv Electronics that we told you about yesterday? We managed to sneak in it slow with the device today at IFA, and we need to say, we adore what we see. The Rip (that’s “Record. Image. Preserve.”) is the most recent addition to the Boogie eWriter line, devices that allow you to scribble notes and drawings and might be wiped away with the click of a button (think a more legible Etch A Sketch ). The Rip ups the ante with the addition of a microUSB port, which helps you to transfer notes as PDFs in your computer.

Improv was careful to indicate that the device is currently in prototype mode, so we will not hold an excessive amount of again the corporate for the product’s plasticy feel — though, if its predecessor is any indication, the general version likely won’t be too removed from this one, and the corporate confirmed that the ultimate version may have a similar charcoal color. And while the product is indeed plasticy, it certainly feels sturdy. More after the break.

Writing at the thing is very simple for anyone who has ever used a stylus before (you recognize who you’re), and erasing is finished comfortably, with the frenzy of a button. There’s also a Save button, which let’s you hold onto notes for posterity.

All in all, this can be a pretty exciting device in case you want simple note taking functionality, but do not need to head all out with, say, a Samsung Note . Pricing hasn’t yet been finalized at the device, however it might be a bit of costlier than its predecessor at a bit over $100. It may be available around November. Check up on a hands-on video below.
