It has been almost two years since we first got a peek on the specs on RED’s EPIC-X , and the 5K-shooting, roughly $30,000 rig is simply now shipping out to customers. That is not terribly shocking considering the company’s notoriously long development cycles and, in case you ordered one, you need to be too fascinated with getting a brand new toy to fret about how long it took to construct. Lets just hope the 1st batch of oldsters to begin capturing gorgeous footage with this thing have a bit more luck than Mark Pederson — RED can not be handing out $100,000 bounties whenever it releases a brand new product.
