A lot of people do loads of things to make their cars and interiors more distinctive, but if Bentley does something to make the inner of 1 of its cars stand out, you realize it is going to be special. And costly. Welcome to the manager Interior Concept, inserted within the Mulsanne. The Mulsanne is a huge, luxurious auto with a twin-turbo V8 slung out front, and with this very special (100,000 euro option) package the interior’s received some twin-augmentation to boot: two iPads. Join us as we get comfortable.
Let’s start within the trunk, where you will find a Mac Mini installed. Here is connected to an LCD that pivots down from the ceiling within the interior, controlled by a Magic Trackpad that sits in between the rear seats, slotted neatly right into a little leather pouch. (There is a keyboard tucked in there too.) And that’s the reason just the start.
Press a button inside the center console and a wood-encased tray gently folds down from the back of the seat in front — there’s one in each. Once folded down it is easy to hit another button at the right side and the tray automatically (and noisily) splits in two, exposing an iPad 2 within the top and a Bluetooth keyboard within the bottom. From here you can also make some last-minute adjustments on your hostile takeover proposal — or perhaps play somewhat Angry Birds — while Jeeves up front whisks you in comfort to the office.
Today here’s only a concept and it’s unclear whether Bentley will actually offer the object, but when it does you’d again be taking a look at a value of 100,000 euro. That’s on top of the 250,000 the automobile itself will set you back, after all. Start saving.
