Verizon starts ‘optimizing’ (read: throttling) network for the main data hungry users

We will not say we weren’t weren’t warned, since Verizon updated its data policy long ago in February , but it’s still a punch inside the gut to listen to its “network optimization” plan went into effect yesterday. a brand new policy page cited by Droid-Life explains how the policy will affect only the “top 5 percent of knowledge users with 3G devices on unlimited data plans” (LTE and tiered data users are inside the clear) by managing their speeds when connected to towers it has deemed are congested. Those conditions, termed network intelligence by Big Red, are what it feels separates this scheme from mere data throttling because it will only affect just a few users (those consuming 2GB or more of knowledge per 30 days) at certain times and places, but it’s hard to work out it some other way. In case you are a kind of affected, expect a message for your bill or My Verizon account, although you could go into and out of the affected group counting on your usage. Hit the source link below for the entire details — anyone else think it isn’t a coincidence this policy popped up ahead of the iPhone 4 came to Verizon and is being implement weeks before the following iThing is predicted to reach?
