Inflatable wind turbines will not be a completely new idea, but prolific inventor Dean Kamen has detailed considered one of a touch different sort in a recently published patent application. Besides generating energy for general use, the turbine would even be capable of power a group of LEDs adorning the turbine itself, that can be used to display advertising or other information using a persistence of vision effect. The applying even means that multiple turbines may be linked together and synchronized to form one large billboard. Needless to say, it’s still just that, a patent application — but it surely is assigned to Kamen’s DEKA company, so it may well not be quite as faraway from reality as every other applications.
