AT&T reportedly speaking to rivals about asset sales in effort to avoid wasting T-Mobile deal

It’s miles too early to be writing it off, after all, but AT&T’s proposed acquisition of T-Mobile is facing some fairly significant hurdles which may throw a huge wrench within the companies’ plans — not the least of that’s a lawsuit from the u. s. Department of Justice. Now, in response to Blooomberg, AT&T is proactively chatting with plenty of smaller rivals about selling a number of its assets (namely, “spectrum and subscribers”) which will save the deal. While talks are described as “preliminary,” AT&T has reportedly already reached out to MetroPCS, Leap Wireless, Dish Network, CenturyLink or even Sprint, although Bloomberg notes that such a sell-off should not be enough to thrill the DOJ. As you may expect, all of these companies are remaining mum at the matter.
