a brand new version number for a browser release is probably not quite as major because it was once, but Mozilla is promising just a few fairly big improvements with the just-released Firefox 7. The largest of these are all within the performance department, including “significantly” reduced memory usage (as much as 50 percent less every now and then), and a brand new version of the hardware-accelerated Canvas that promises to hurry up HTML5 sites. Also making its debut is a brand new Telemetry feature that lets users anonymously provide browser performance data to Mozilla in the event that they prefer to opt-in.
