Earlier this month, Microsoft announced a brand new slate of Xbox Live partnerships with Verizon, Comcast, and a bunch of different content providers. Now, the corporate has unveiled new information about the code upon which these new apps will run. Sources almost the location tell GigaOM that the hot framework, code-named “Lakeview,” would be in accordance with Silverlight, but can even bring a number of new features from Xbox Kinect, including voice recognition and gesture-based controls. More intriguing, perhaps, are insider claims that Microsoft’s new content partners stream video using Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming, in preference to Redmond’s Smooth Streaming . GigaOM’s sources went directly to say that Microsoft have been introducing major changes to the platform over the last few weeks, inside the hopes of getting it ready for third-party developers once the Xbox Live update rolls out. Spokespersons for Xbox and Silverlight said they’ve “nothing to announce” in regards to the new framework, though GigaOM reports that Redmond is aiming to release the update on Black Friday.
