iPhone 4S lacks "Enable 3G" switch

If you are a number of the teeming masses holding a new iPhone 4S on your hands, you are going to be surprised (as we were) in finding there is something conspicuously absent from the Network Settings menu in your new device: specifically the power to manually shut off 3G data. After receiving word, and a screenshot, from a helpful tipster, rocking a 4S on Vodafone’s network, we found the identical option missing from our own AT&T iteration. Needless to say this is not one of these thing that’s prone to influence most users, but when you are the type that loves to squeeze every last little bit of juice out of that Apple, the omission may cause some frustration. We gave Apple support a choice to work out what that they had to mention, and were told AppleCare has no official response at the matter. If you are lamenting the lack of the 3G flip-switch hold forth inside the comments below.

[Thanks, Chris]

This tallies… »

Word in the street is ViewSonic's on the brink of unveil a fresh, ICS-equipped 7-inch tablet at MWC (together with everyone else). The ViewPad G70, which might be a follow-as much as that budget-friendly E70 we showed you at CES, is rumored to hold a touch heavier $350 price ticket than its sibling. While the slate's best feature might be Google's 4.0 treat , ViewSonic's… »
