Mobile Miscellany: week of October 31, 2011

This week was packed with news at the mobile front, so it was easy to overlook some stories here and there. Here’s a few of the other stuff that happened within the wide world of wireless for the week of October 31, 2011:

When you have a Verizon tablet and a powerful aversion for Google Maps, try UpNext HD Maps. Released by the carrier this week, it’s interactive and provides 3D, and uses quick tabs that will help you find restaurants, nightlife, businesses and so forth. [ Droid-Life ]

Motorola Droid RAZR release rumor: how does November 11th, 2011 at 11:11AM sound? [ AndroidCentral ]

Apparently it’s Verizon week, because here’s another one from Big Red. This rumor’s in regards to the LG Spectrum, that’s being thought to be the Revolution 2. It’s apparently showing up in some Verizon database, in accordance with screenshots; the photographs don’t really give away a lot, apart from the very fact it seems that to have LTE — not likely a shocker for the sequel to the Revolution. The BlackBerry 9790 Bellagio got just a little hands-on time, and has a gaggle of pictures to prove it. [ N4BB ]

Let’s accept it — not everyone seems to be enamored by the look of the Motorola RAZR. Y’know, the hot one. This week, a version of the device with an additional design, dubbed the MT917, was spotted en path to China. It has plenty of similar specs inside, however it has rounded corners and encompasses a TD-SCDMA radio. [ Unwired View ]

The Google Reader and Google Docs apps on Android was given refreshes, either one of which having been inspired by Ice Cream Sandwich. Head to the Market and check them out. [ Droid-Life ]
