Biscotti TV phone hands-on

The tiny Biscotti TV phone will be pretty easy to overlook in most home theater setups. It really is, the truth is, roughly the form and size of its namesake Italian cookie. Honestly, it would be pretty easy to overlook besides the fact that you were holding it — the video calling TV attachment probably weighs under its baked good doppelganger. The basis is to stay this sliver of glossy black plastic on top of your TV and make video VoIP calls using its integrated HD webcam and 802.11n radio. Your counterpart is then displayed, super-sized, for your big screen. Round the back of the device are the 3 ports: HDMI in, HDMI out and gear. You just plug the Biscotti in between your settop and television, then navigate the menus with the included remote. The demo stream established on the CES Unveiled event had a rather yellow hue to it, but we’re willing to chalk that as much as the poor lighting at the show floor. The ideal news, though? Along with making calls throughout the proprietary Biscotti service you may get your video chat on using the increasingly ubiquitous Google Talk . Inspect the gallery below and a handy guide a rough video walk through after the break.
