Google sticks Nexus S ICS update back within the freezer

Wanting to get your Nexus S all sticky with an Ice Cream Sandwich update ? Google’s saying not so fast, no less than for some Nexus S owners. Google community manager Paul Wilcox responded to queries at the mobile support forum, explaining:

In case you received an update notification a short while ago however the update isn’t currently available to your phone, this can be likely the results of Google pausing the update on your area while we monitor feedback. The Android 4.0 update is continuous to roll out around the globe so your phone will receive another update notification when it’s available again on your region.

Apparently the update is constant to download for some users, but in certain cases it won’t install, though Wilcox says that here’s “one other scenario.” We’ve reached out to Mountain View for an update, but tell us about your experience within the comments.
