Newsmy C66 Color eBook Reader Announced

Newsmy has been churning out quite a number of eBook readers recently, and now the Chinese company has announced the upcoming release of its fourth eBook reader, the C66. The most notable difference between this unit and its previous offerings is that it ditches the E-Ink display and uses a color LCD instead, apparently allowing it to playback 1080p videos, which E-Ink displays obviously aren’t capable of at the moment. It also features a sleek design, and weighs in at 230 grams. Pricing and release date of the C66 weren’t mentioned.

Newsmy 6202 ebook reader

Newsmy is back with a new ebook reader of their own, known as the Newsmy 6202 which will improve on its 6101 model which rolled out earlier this January, retailing for $262. The design does not resemble that of the 6101, featuring a neat, black color. In what looks like part of the Kindle, you get a QWERTY keyboard and a couple of extremely large page turning buttons located right beside the display for your convenience. Ebooks aren’t the only media supported, since it handles music playback and images as well.

Newsmy A11HD portable media player tries hard to be special

Newsmy (or Newman, as it were) may not be a household name here in the States, but it’s good for pumping out new portable media players at a decent clip over in the Far East. Thankfully, there’s this amazing invention called the “internet,” which essentially enables folks all over the world to trade currency for product. For those interested in the ho hum player shown above — which features a 4.3-inch display (480 x 272), 720p TV output, an absurd list of supported file formats and 16GB of internal storage — it can be shipped your way for the intriguing price of $129.86. Oh, and did we mention that this thing can play “64 games?” Look out, iPod touch!

Newsmy A8HD probably looks better than it really is

After the lustrous ManMan and retro Cool Man, Newsmy has now surprised us with a straight-laced number in the form of the 8GB 4.3-inch A8HD. Packing a pair of serious-looking speakers and a “high definition” microphone, this has all the intent in the world to break away from the cheap knockoff label, but you already know what you’re gonna get: a shiny pretty paintjob outside and someone’s leftover parts on the inside. Common audio and video formats are supported, and there’s even a rather dubious claim of 720p playback. Maybe once the price and release date are cleared up, we’ll saunter over to China and check it out for ourselves. Or not.
