Lenovo: 80% of the technology will run on the mobile web by 2015
Lenovo company chief Yang Yuanqing said that soon the majority of Lenovo products would run on the mobile web, meaning a cross of 3G and 4G technologies. Most of their current line comes with 3G built in and their ThinkPad line is just screaming out for mobile web simply because it is aimed at the on-the-go professional.
What think I on this topic? I think Lenovo is unqiuely placed to take advantage of the mobile web, along with Dell and HP. All three are seen as “business” notebook manufacturers, for better or worse, and that’s a low margin business. By adding 3G capabilities out of the box they presumably get a cut from the carriers as they sell more units.

Fuel cells are on their way into the mainstream, even though the commercially available models are still pretty pricey. But there are companies like Kyoto-based Aquafairy [JP], for example, preparing affordable fuel cells, too. Their four new fuel cells are intended to make gadget fans in particular happy: the micro FC Stick (0.8W), the FC-Stick (2W), the FC-Cube (3W) and the FC-Cube Dual (6W).

Dell Precision M4500 notebook

Dell’s latest 15.6″ Precision M4500 notebook does come with a whole lot of muscle just like its larger sibling, the M6500, although this one comes in a much more mobile unit. Of course, some of the specifications have been downgraded in some ways due to the size constraint, but you will still be able to enjoy a choice of either Core i5 or Core i7 processors. For those who want to go for the jugular, there is an option for a Core i7-920XM Quad Core Extreme Edition to go with a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800M or 880M graphics card. Other notable features include a screen resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 with 100% color gamut, a backlit keyboard, a 64GB SSD mini card, a 3-megapixel camera, a multitouch trackpad, Precision ON and a multi-carrier-friendly Gobi 2.0 wireless chip. Prices start from $1,700 upwards.

Alienware M11x autopsy photos
The Alienware M11x is a fascinating modern notebook. May I say that it probably took “out-of-this-world technology” to pack so much power into a little kit? Get it? Because it’s an Alienware. You got? Yes, I know I’m dumb. John tells me that everyday. Just click through for the photos, pal. Let’s get on with this.
The Dell Precision M4500 brings serious power to the 15.6-inch party
Dell made a huge splash back in December when it launched the Core i7 Extreme Precision M6500 beast, but it isn’t exactly a perfect mobile solution weighing in at 8.5 lbs weight and 17-inch screen. The new Precision M4500 aims to solve that dilemma by offering nearly the same power with a Intel Core i7-920XM [...]

Dell Alienware M11x stripped naked

You know what they say – underneath our skin is the same red blood that courses through our veins, so the same applies to computers. No matter how lovely they look like from the outside, even the Dell Alienware M11x does resemble a normal nuts-and-bolts situation when opened up. Just be careful when you do so though, why take the risk of spoiling your precious new ultra portable gaming notebook just to satisfy your curiousity?

Alienware M11x gets torn down, earthly components found inside
Having filled our business laptop lust with a T410 undressing yesterday, today we’ve come across a comprehensive teardown of Alienware’s gamer-friendly M11x ultraportable. Touted as the world’s most powerful 11-inch notebook, this is certainly one of the most tightly packed, with the battery and CPU cooling solution taking up more than half of the real estate, while the hard drive, memory, and wireless modules leave just enough room for an asymmetric speaker arrangement. From this strategic view, the examination moves into a very finely detailed investigation of the onboard components, including the particulars of the heatpipe-equipped heatsink, the SU7300 CULV processor, and the GT 335M GPU from NVIDIA. The whole thing culminates with the weighing of all the important parts, leaving us with pretty much no mysteries about this decidedly manmade machine.
